Junk is a funk Jedi with a taste for a lick, sampling platters from all over the galaxy. When he puts them in a pot you think you ain't coming back for second helpings? This soul is so sweet you don't need no desert. The first course has been reheated by the gentleman chef Diesler, star of the first TMR release with his 'Sliced Soul Sandwich EP '. Keeping things funky and sweet the guitars get chopped extra fine and the horns baked to perfection. The desert is of the original variety with Junk serving it the way he intended: fruity, crisp and with a slightly cheeky aftertaste! This guy got more cake than Mr Kippling and there aint no way he's got less flavour. This ain't no Junk food, this is the real deal!'

Not so much an out-and-out dancefloor destroyer, but more an expertly crafted piece of subtle dancefloor led jazz brilliance. Just slap it on and watch your chosen dancefloor bounce away in happy, smiling unison. Love it. - Found Sounds DJ

Swaggeringly jazzed up beats, an infectious piano loop, muted vocals, flutes and trumpets galore are the order of the day. Tasty. - Dom Servini SNC

"Put A Wiggle In Your Walk" is a jiggling jazzer, with kit tapping percussion, a gorgeous trumpet and jazzadelic vox. "Belly Dancer" lets a supple bass make all the effort, and "Say What?" is a pedestrian Frenched houser, complete with a slowly screeched guitar. "I Only Dance With My Friends" rounds off the EP, as a rootsy flute does battle with looped up brass. - Jon Freer XLR8R

If this turns out to be rubbish, Junk?s on a hiding to nothing. Fortunately, on the back of suspicious chunks of The Meters and The Incredible Bongo Band and horns from a similar era, a natty, old skool-sounding 12? shakes its moneymaker. Junk sounds like a product of an 80s microphone, especially to Diesler?s Sweet T-ish bassline on the remix. *** - Matt Oliver Update

"Pitched somewhere between Eric B & Rakim and Quantic Soul Orchestra. 99c Strut is a wonderfully bluesy funk number (think The Meters Cissy Strut) with Junk rhyming forcefully atop. Very simple, but very good too- especially the heavier Diesler remix" - Matt Anniss IDJ
